You
are knitting merrily along, your needles
moving lickety split. Or so you think! You look
up and your neighbor, who had been behind you,
is now ahead. His sweater is much longer than
yours. How could that be?
Aha. The secret is
continental knitting!
~ A bit of tecnical
stuff now: in Continenal knitting you hold
your
yarn in your left hand – called picking
– while in
American style you hold the yarn in your
right hand – called throwing! ~
In this class the intrepid Kate Freeman
will help you make the switch from English/American
style knitting
to Continental.
Why should I do this,
you ask. For one thing, it is faster. Much
faster.
For
another, it makes color work easier.
Much
easier. For another, you will impress
your knitting friends.
Really! Oh and lastly you will make a
really, really cute hat.**
