INSTRUCTOR: Maia Discoe of Tactile Fiber Arts |
DATES: Wednesdays August 19, 26, September 9 7:00pm to 9:00 pm (3 classes, 6 hours. Note: We skip a week)
We love both the Aeolian and the earlier Laminaria shawl. Elizabeth Freeman is the creator of these 2 wonders. (The Aeolian was featured in the Spring 2009 Knitty.) Both patterns feature two sizes and work well in handspun or commercially spun lace yarn. You can choose to work on either of these fabulous pat-terns. With the expert guidance of our lace guru, Maia, you will work through the cast on, the bind off and the various charts for the patterns. (Note: these charts look intimidating but under Maia's guiding hand, you'll be an expert in no time!)
FEE: $65.00 |

INSTRUCTOR: Kira Dulaney |
DATES: Sundays August 16, 23, 30 (optional class on September 13, see note below), 2:30pm to 4:30pm (3 classes, 6 hours)
Kira and I chose this skirt because we felt you could wear it in the winter and the summer, to the Farmers? Market and to the symphony. In other words the "go to" garment in your closet. We also liked all the techniques that you could learn: back-lapped zipper, sewing on the bias, contoured waist band, topstitching, seam finishes, and much more. And it is always "much more" when Kira is at the helm!
FEE: $66.00 (optional class is $22.00 paid on the day of class) |

INSTRUCTOR: Carrie Vermazen |
DATES: Mondays August 24, 31, September 14, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm (3 classes, 6 hours)
The timing of this class is based on the theory that you will love this stocking so much you will want to make more. And we are conveniently giving you lots of time to whip up more! This is a perfect class on many levels. If you have never made a sock, this will be a great start. If you love Fair Isle, then the class is perfect. If you want a stress-free knitting challenge, it is great. If you want to hone your Fair Isle skills, Carrie is most definitely your woman. A great teacher and a fabulous project—a perfect combo.
FEE: $66.00 |

INSTRUCTOR: Kira Dulaney |
DATES: Mondays, September 14, 21, October 5, 12, 6:30 pm to 8:00pm (6 hours) Optional class on October 19 — see note below
Hoods and cables have a way of making a sweater irresistable. Kira's newest pattern, the Grown-Up Hoody, has both, and pockets to boot! You can choose to make either the Grown-Up version or the toddler/child size. The child's version has a zipper and comes in a vest style too. It is an incredibly versatile pattern and you will learn many, many useful skills. Kira will guide you through all the tricky bits and dispense lots of helpful advice along the way!
FEE: $67.00 (optional class is $17.00, payable on evening of class) |
All classes, unless otherwise mentioned, are held at the knit-one-one studio:
