Unleashing new knitters on the world or Kate's Little Ducklings

I had forgotten that I had not written about the wonderful series of beginner classes we had at knit-one-one. Kate was so delighted with her students that she refers to them as her "Little Duckling"! It is very exciting to be a witness even one person learning new skills but in this case it was 8 people learning how to cast on/off, knit/purl AND knit in the round PLUS use double pointed needles. Kate kept telling them how terrific they were but I don't really think they really understood how much they had learned in such a short time. I mean how long did it take you to use DPN's? Or to knit in the round for that matter!

Jennifer and Cheryl took off to Hawaii in the middle of the class where they practiced knitting on the lanai and proceeded to take some make-up classes when they returned. David and Liz were the first husband and wife team at knit-one one. Nancy B and Amy were the first aunt and niece combo. Michelle the first leftie and Susan G the first "new" knitter with her own yarn stash!
