Back from a summer of teaching, teaching and more teaching!
Well I started teaching at UC Berkeley's Summer English Language Institute at the beginning of July and honestly during the whole time I had barely time to breathe much less blog. In fact the only knitting I did was 2 of the Mason Dixon wash cloths and those were knit pretty much during faculty meetings! Despite the busyness of it all, I had a great time. I taught some Business English classes and had talented, bright, students from all over the globe: Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Czechoslovakia. We learned a lot from each other and of course I extolled the joys of knitting! It was also really fun being around my former ESL colleagues who over the 13 years that I taught with them had become like family members. And like family members we just picked up where we had left off last summer.
While I was busy at UC, knit-one-one was in the hands of the ever so capable, creative and cheerful
Carrie V. It was so great knowing that she "had my back"' so to speak!
This summer instead of having an inner-tube/bbq, my swim team decided to have an open studio bbq celebration. It was held in the fabulous studio of Susan A and all the many artists on the team displayed their creations. Knit-one-one did an installation too, created by the ever talented Ms Punkrawkpurl
herself. Many of the swim team members have taken class at knit-one-one so in the installation we were showcasing their creations. The pics are from the open house/party.
And finally, if you have time, please drop by Sweet Adeline Sweet Adeline tomorrow evening, August 25. We have done a knit-one-one installation and we will have a reception from 6 to 7:30. We would love to see you there.
