Knitting 101, aka Beginning Knitting

So you are at a party and all of a sudden you hear these words – casting on, slip slip knit, DPN’s, Malabrigo. Are they talking about fishing? Skiing?  A vacation in Uruguay? A relationship breakup?

No, they are talking about their knitting! Take this class and you too can join in the knitting fun. You will learn all about casting on/off, knitting, purling, ribbing and even knitting in the round. What a concept!

You will create a  scarf and a hat as you learn your new skills. At the end of class you will know everything you need to know to embark on just about any knitting project. (And of course you will have a totally new vocabulary.)

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?

Nothing! This is a beginner class.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Nothing! Yarn, 3 sets of needles (straight, circular, and double pointeds) and a light dinner are included in the cost of the class.

INSTRUCTOR: Kate Freeman

DATES: Tuesdays, September 11, 18, 25, and October 2.

TIME: 6:30pm – 8:30pm (4 classes, 8 hours)

LOCATION: 115 Temescal Circle, Emeryville __>Map

FEE: $125.00 (Yarn, needles, beverages, and light dinner included.)

**Some of you will arrive with more experience than others. For those of you who have some familiarity with knitting, we offer you this more challenging scarf pattern. Fabulous!
