Beginning Spinning: the Drop Spindle

Have you ever wondered how yarn is made?  Are you curious about all the spinning you have seen online? Want to join in the spinning craze? Come find out what all the buzz is about.

In this class you will learn the basics of how to make your very own yarn on a drop spindle. You will also learn how to ply yarn on a drop spindle, and how to finish your yarn once it has been spun.  And you will learn to identify all the different characteristics of spinning fiber. Did we mention that you will learn a whole new vocabulary too!

The materials fee includes a drop spindle and fiber.  If you already have a drop spindle, you will just pay for the fiber portion of the materials fee.

Note: The instructors, Maia and Brooke, of Tactile FiberArts will also have some spinning books and other supplies available for purchase.
