Kira wore a version of this top to a knit-one-one event
and everyone clamored for her to: a) get the pattern written and b) offer
it as a class at knit-one-one. Since we aim to please, of course we hopped
to. Kira finished the pattern. Kira took pictures. We scheduled the class.
The Diamond Back Top is a garment you can wear from the moment you finish
it, into the fall and even into the brisker winter months. It will become
a staple of your wardrobe – really! It is a classic, fitted v-neck
tee that looks great on a wide variety of figures. It has waist shaping for
a flattering fit and a diamond lace panel cascading down the back. The
Diamond Back is knit seamlessly from the top down for minimal (and fast!)
finishing.

This is an advanced
beginner class.
You need to know how to cast on / off, knit,
and purl.

• 630 (700, 780, 870, 940, 1060) yards
Berroco Linen Jeans (70% rayon/30% linen;
80 yards/50 grams), OR Rowan’s
Bamboo tape, OR ArtFibers’ Rosetta
(in a not too variegated colorway)
• US size 7, 24" or 29" circular
needles
• US size 9, 24" or 29" circular
needles
• stitch markers, preferably in two
different styles or colors
• basic knitting supplies eg measuring
tape, scissors, tapestry needle, row
counter etc
GAUGE: 4" = 19
sts by 26 rows in Stocking Stitch
on size 9 needles
